Arrival in Punta Arenas & Puerto Natales

March 5-6, 2024

Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile. Transfer to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine. Equipment check and trek briefing. Welcome dinner featuring Patagonian lamb.

Eastern Circuit: Las Torres

March 7-9, 2024

Begin the W Circuit from east to west. Trek to Base Las Torres for the iconic view of the granite towers. Continue through the Ascencio Valley and along the shores of Lake Nordenskjöld.

French Valley & Paine Grande

March 10-12, 2024

Trek into the spectacular French Valley, surrounded by hanging glaciers and towering peaks. Hike to the French Glacier viewpoint. Continue to Paine Grande with stunning views of Los Cuernos.

Grey Glacier & Ice Hiking

March 13-15, 2024

Trek to Grey Glacier, one of the park's most impressive features. Ice hiking experience on the glacier with crampons and ice axes. Optional kayaking among icebergs on Grey Lake.

12-14

Back Country Circuit

March 16-18, 2024

Leave the main trails behind and explore the less-visited back country of Torres del Paine. Trek through remote valleys with opportunities to spot wildlife including condors and guanacos.

Return to Puerto Natales & Departure

March 19-20, 2024

Final day of trekking back to the park entrance. Transfer to Puerto Natales for a celebratory dinner. Next day, transfer to Punta Arenas airport for departure flights.

Frequently Asked Questions

This trek is considered challenging due to Patagonia's unpredictable weather and strong winds rather than technical difficulty. It's comparable to the Tour du Mont Blanc in terms of daily distances but with more variable conditions. Previous multi-day trekking experience is essential.

Safety is our top priority. If conditions are dangerous, we have alternative routes and rest day options. Our guides monitor weather constantly and make decisions based on group safety. We build flexibility into the itinerary for weather delays.

You'll carry a day pack with personal items, water, and layers. Porters carry group camping equipment, food, and cooking gear. Your personal sleeping bag and clothing must be carried by you. Typical day pack weight is 8-12kg.

Common sightings include guanacos, rheas, condors, and various bird species. Puma sightings are possible but rare. We maintain safe distances from all wildlife and follow strict Leave No Trace principles to protect this pristine ecosystem.

Some gear can be rented in Puerto Natales, but selection is limited and quality varies. We recommend bringing critical items like boots, sleeping bag, and clothing. We can arrange gear rental for items like trekking poles and some camping equipment.
